Mesekiu Book

On August 24th, 2023 the second cohort of the Decolonizing Environmental Social Science Research class launched it’s research product, Mesekiu er a Belau, a book about dugongs of Palau.

Mesekiu er a Belau was written and designed by cohort 2 student researchers. Its content reflects data from research collected through surveys and interviews with local community members that shared varying insights of the mesekiu’s relevance to culture, family, the environment, the ocean, and Palauan daily life.

The book is available, at no cost, in hard copy and electronic format. Hard copies can be found at the Ebiil Society Inc. office in Ollei and in partner locations e.g., Palau International Coral Reef Center. The book’s e-version is available HERE

For questions or concerns regarding this book, please do not hesitate to contact the Ebiil Society Inc. office.
